People from all over the world visit Playa del Carmen, creating a cosmopolitan ambiance unmatched in the area. The focus of Playa del Carmen, apart from its beach of course, is 5th Avenue and its adjacent streets.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Playa del Carmen has one of the best beaches in the world. The Caribbean Sea is warm year-round, excellent for snorkeling and diving as well as windsurfing and deep-sea fishing. We can also help arrange adventure travel around the Mayan Riviera, sky diving, eco-tours, car and scooter rentals. La Tortuga Hotel & Spa is strategically situated between 12th and 14th Streets, in the centre of Playa del Carmen, just one block from the downtown hub. Just in front of our boutique hotel you can enjoy a French meal at Byblos Restaurant; if you venture a few more steps over to Calle Corazon with its bars, restaurants, shops, this will lead you directly to 5th Avenue. On 12th Street, enjoy “pizza al trancio” at Pizza Pazza or Pizza Banana, savour great seafood tacos, or a delicious meal at The Glass Restaurant. When the sun sets, this busy street in the heart of Playa del Carmen comes to life with mariachi live music, nightly shows, DJ and lounge parties at La Santenera, Bali, Kartabar, and Diablito, plus live entertainment and fun at beachfront discos. Airport: La Tortuga hotel and spa is a one-hour drive from Cancun’s International Airport. Taxis or buses are available from the airport to Playa del Carmen. Airport Transfer: We can arrange transfers from Cancun International Airport. Please contact us for more informations.
